Responsibilities:
Unique opportunity to join a new team forming to develop in-house financial equities trading system.  This is a major project within the firm and will have a high degree of visibility, and will be most important to the growth of the firm.

The Application Developer is responsible for creating, enhancing, and maintaining high performance, high availability desktop tools, business logic tiers and database applications related to the business of trading systems, portfolio management, and accounting.  Duties include:
- Developing and maintaining Windows based user interfaces, business logic tier and database elements for custom applications.
- Interacting heavily with end-users, throughout the development life-cycle, including: requirements gathering, testing, implementation, production support.
- Utilizing problem solving skills to help enhance and support enterprise systems, software packages, and internal tools.
- Researching new development technologies and evaluating third-party products.
- Creating and conducting test plans for development projects and for third-party products.
- Documenting application requirements, workflow, and technical specifications.
- Advancing team development by building shared code libraries, and implementing coding standards.
- Meeting delivery targets for development projects, and providing timely status reports for those projects.

Qualifications:
Candidates must demonstrate systems development capabilities, excellent communication skills, and a desire to work in high-energy, goal-oriented development environment.  The position requires the ability to work independently, manage multiple assignments simultaneously, anticipate required activities/tasks, and work according to changing priorities and deadlines.  Important skills also include: graphical user interface design, attention to detail and understanding of source control procedures.

- B.A., B.S. degree or M.S.
- At least four years professional experience in software development.
- Knowledge of windows forms user interface programming, object oriented programming, n-tier architecture, database development, and/or spreadsheet application development.
- Preferred technologies include:  .NET (C#) and MS SQL Server.  Experience with C++, Java is acceptable in lieu of .NET.

Plusses:
- Experience with .NET WinForms, multi-tier architecture, messaging architectures, event driven programming or VBA (Excel development) is also a plus.
- Development of financial applications, including trade management systems, market data analysis systems, portfolio management, accounting, and/or tax systems.

Compensation:
- Base salary range 90k - 110k
- Bonus Plan (Up to 50% of base salary)
- 401K  Plan, dollar to dollar match up to 15K
- Major Medical, Dental, Vision paid for dependents at no cost to employee and dependents
- 3 week vacation starting off.
