Hey everyone,

I'm new to .net development, in fact I'm new to any software development besides some basics in college.  I was able to lateral move from a PC field tech position into a web dev position with 0 experience so I'm learning as I go .

Anyways I figured I'd introduce myself and I guess I'll meet some folks at the lunch meeting in March.

Hope to see you there Oedo808.

Are there any tools you've been using so far to help you learn .NET? If you are doing asp.net, then naturally http://asp.net/ has a lot of good helpful tutorials.

Re: howdy
Oh, aside from the msdn reference, asp.net, and googling I have a stack of books I've inherited... I've been through about 1 and a half of a book so far.

I read through one on XHTML, I've gone through about half of a Wrox beginning ASP.NET with c# book, 1/8th of a Wrox Ajax with ASP.NET book, and a tiny bit of a Wrox ASP.NET 2.0 Security, Membership, and Role Management book.

The most trouble I've had was struggling through getting stored procedures to work with a gridview and a sqldatasource.  My DBA decided to go with stored procedures and yanked my rights to everything but.  I guess it shouldn't have been as big of deal as it turned out to be but I'm learning.

I'm pushing stuff onto Sharepoint which hasn't been much of a development experience but it's kind of fun in my opinion.
